Year 9 are revising for an end-of-unit chemistry assessment. The teacher shares a four-page chapter as a view-only Google Doc covering protons, neutrons and electrons, their relative masses and charges, atomic number, mass number and isotopes. Students read at their own pace on their iPads for 25 minutes, making notes in their exercise books as they go rather than annotating on screen. The teacher then closes the doc on the projector and sets six short-answer questions on the board, such as working out the number of neutrons in chlorine-37, which students answer in their books before marking them together.
