The teacher models three scripts on the board: a forever loop that switches costumes to make a sprite dance, a colour effect block, and a 'when space key pressed' script that makes the sprite jump. Each child picks a sprite and a backdrop, builds their own version with at least one loop and one key-press event, and changes the wait times until the dance looks right. They test by clicking the green flag, then add one idea of their own, such as a sound or a second key. Children work in the Scratch offline app or on teacher-managed accounts with projects left unshared, and save their project to the class folder.
