Year 9 are starting the digestive system. The teacher chooses a 12-minute explainer video on YouTube, loads it into Edpuzzle and adds five checkpoint questions, such as which enzyme breaks down starch and where most digested food is absorbed, with skipping turned off. Students join through the class code on school accounts and watch on their own devices with headphones; the video stops at each checkpoint until they answer. The teacher watches the answers arrive on the Edpuzzle class view and, after the video, reteaches the checkpoint most of the class got wrong, often the role of bile, before students label a digestive system diagram in their books.
