The textbook says French pupils start at eight, have Wednesday afternoons off and take a long lunch; this lesson tests those claims against a real class. Before the lesson, a class at a partner collège answers an anonymous Microsoft Form that the UK class wrote in French, covering start and finish times, lunch length, Wednesday afternoons, homework per night, favourite subject and weekend activities, with no names, no questions about home or family and nothing on religion or health (the UK class answers the partner's version in English). In the lesson, students work through the French responses on the Form's summary charts, test six textbook statements against the data and mark each "vrai", "faux" or "ça dépend", writing their evidence in French. The lesson ends with a class-to-class Teams call hosted by both teachers on school accounts, where students ask the French class, in French, about the answers that surprised them, and the French class asks back in English.
