Passive Replace on the PICRAT grid: Passive row, Replace columnCIPRAT Passive Replace

Year 7 are starting Scratch and will build their own programs in pairs next lesson. Today the teacher shows a ten-minute tutorial video on the board that builds a draw-a-square program: add the Pen extension, move the sprite to the centre, put the pen down, then repeat four times: move 100 steps and turn 90 degrees. The teacher pauses after each step so students can sketch the block sequence in their books. After the video the teacher asks what the sprite would draw with repeat set to 3 and a turn of 120 degrees, and students write and draw their predictions before a whole-class discussion. The lesson ends with students writing out, in their books, the blocks they think would draw a regular pentagon.
