Passive Replace on the PICRAT grid: Passive row, Replace columnCIPRAT Passive Replace

Year 7 are starting fractions and need to see the method modelled before independent practice next lesson. The teacher presents a 12-slide PowerPoint with five worked examples that build in difficulty: a proper fraction times a proper fraction, a proper times an improper fraction, a mixed number times a proper fraction, cancelling before multiplying, and a recipe word problem. The same deck, with the answer slides removed, is shared to students' iPads so they can follow along and look back at earlier steps, the way they would flip back in a textbook. After each example the next slide shows a similar question with the working hidden; students try it in their books before the teacher reveals the answer. The last ten minutes are five questions from the board, done in books and marked together.
