Year 7 are learning which NHS service to use and when. The teacher gives each pair a FigJam board on school accounts, holding sixteen scenarios about fictional people, such as "Sam's grandad's face has dropped on one side and his speech is slurred", "Priya has a sore throat and a slight temperature" and "Leo cut his finger and it stopped bleeding after five minutes of pressure", and four columns headed 999, NHS 111, pharmacist and self-care. Pairs drag each card into a column and add a sticky note naming the clue that decided it, such as the FAST signs of a stroke. The teacher circulates and questions any pair whose placement would leave someone at risk, then takes the class through the four hardest cards. Students copy the FAST checklist and the 111 number into their planners, and the teacher reminds them that the school nurse and their tutor are there if a scenario raised a worry.
