The class learns four short ostinatos together: a stomp on beats 1 and 3, a clap on 2 and 4, finger clicks on the off-beats and a shaker pattern. Each child then records all four parts on separate tracks in GarageBand against the metronome, wearing headphones, and listens back after each take. They re-record any part that drifts, bring the parts in one at a time across 16 bars so the texture builds, and set the volumes so no part drowns the others. Recordings stay on the school iPads, and the teacher plays a few grooves to the class to compare how they build.
