The teacher sets up three short Wayground (formerly Quizizz) quizzes, each of ten mixed questions from the 6, 7, 8, 9 and 12 times tables. Pupils join with their first name only and the leaderboard is switched off, so nothing ranks pupils in front of the class. After each question pupils see whether they were right and the correct fact, and between rounds the teacher checks the question report for the facts with the most misses, such as 7 × 8 or 6 × 9, and spends three minutes on a strategy for them before the next round starts. At the end the teacher notes the two tables the class will practise next week.
