Creative Amplify on the PICRAT grid: Creative row, Amplify columnCIPRAT Creative Amplify

The class sings a call-and-response song they know, and the teacher shows how the answering phrase often ends on the home note. In Song Maker, set to eight bars and a pentatonic scale, each child writes a four-bar call and a four-bar response by placing notes on the grid, playing the whole melody back as often as they need. They change notes and rhythms after each playback until the response sounds like an answer and ends on the home note. Song Maker needs no login, so each child saves their melody as a link and hands it in through the class's usual assignment system, and the teacher plays three or four to the class to discuss what makes an answer sound finished.
