Grade 1 fruit kebab instructions with step photos, shared with families through Seesaw.

Year 2 are learning to write instructions with imperative verbs and time connectives. In groups, children make fruit kebabs under the school's food hygiene and allergy procedures, and one child in each group photographs each step on the group tablet, framing hands and fruit only, never faces. Each child then writes their own numbered instructions in their Seesaw journal, with 'First', 'Next', 'After that' and 'Finally' and a bossy verb to start each step, and chooses one photo for each step. The teacher checks the posts and shares selected ones with families through Seesaw's family access, and the next morning children read the comments their families left, such as 'I didn't know you had to wash the grapes first'.
