Students study how curators group work, for example Tate Modern's thematic displays, and each chooses a theme such as memory, the body or the city. The teacher sets up one shared space with a scene per student, and over three lessons each student hangs photographs of three of their own finished pieces and two chosen from classmates (with their agreement), deciding sequence, spacing and wall colour, and adds a 150-word curatorial rationale at the entrance. The gallery is shared by class code within the school. At a launch lesson the class walks the gallery and each student writes a critical response to two rooms, focusing on the curatorial choices and not on changing anyone's work.
