Year 11 carry out the titration required practical today, and last year's class lost marks for rinsing the burette with water, reading the meniscus from above and running past the end point. The teacher has loaded a clear demonstration video of a hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide titration into Edpuzzle and added six voice notes and no questions, at the moments that matter: rinsing the burette with the acid, removing the funnel before the first reading, reading the bottom of the meniscus at eye level, swirling the flask, adding the acid drop by drop near the end point, and recording each reading to two decimal places. For the first fifteen minutes students watch on their own devices with headphones, and the video pauses at each point while they hear the teacher's explanation before carrying on. They then carry out their titrations, and the teacher refers back to the voice notes by name when correcting technique at the bench.
