Year 10 are learning to judge health information, and many already ask chatbots for advice. Signed in to the school's approved Copilot Chat on school accounts, pairs work from a teacher-written sheet of sun-safety questions, such as whether a base tan protects your skin and how often sunscreen should be reapplied, and are told not to type anything about themselves. They ask each question three ways, neutrally, with a leading assumption such as "Why is a base tan good protection?", and as a worried teenager wanting reassurance, and record how the answer shifts. Each answer is checked against the NHS sun safety guidance, which advises sunscreen of at least SPF 30 with at least four-star UVA protection, reapplied regularly and after swimming. The lesson ends with the class agreeing a short checklist for when chatbot health advice needs checking, and the teacher points anyone worried about a mole or skin change to the school nurse or their GP.
