The teacher shows the moment in Act 1 of Blood Brothers where Mrs Johnstone agrees to give one of her twins to Mrs Lyons, and students vote on Mentimeter for her strongest motivation: poverty, pressure from Mrs Lyons, or hope of a different life for the child. The teacher uses the spread to choose the two most popular readings and asks two pairs to perform the exchange, once for each reading. Students watch, then re-vote, and the teacher questions students who changed their vote about what in the performance persuaded them. The class ends by noting the vocal and physical choices that made each motivation clear.
