Pre-K watch the Numberblocks episode about Five, played by the teacher from YouTube

Reception are exploring the number five and the ways it can be made. The teacher plays the Five episode from the official Numberblocks channel on YouTube, from her account on the class screen, with the video checked beforehand and nothing else on show. Children watch from the carpet, and afterwards they show five on their fingers in different ways, four and one, three and two, and build five-cube towers to break apart and put back together.

Why this is Passive Replace

Children watch and listen, and they do not control the episode. The class used to watch the same episode from BBC iPlayer on the same screen, so playing it from YouTube changes nothing about what they receive or how the teacher follows it up.

Watch out

If children watched on tablets in a version that stopped until they tapped an answer, they would be responding through the technology and the lesson would sit in the Interactive row.
