Reception go on an autumn hunt around the school grounds and each child chooses one treasure: a conker, a pine cone, a crunchy leaf. Back inside, each child photographs their treasure on a school tablet, with the object on the table and no faces in the picture, and records a sentence describing it, such as 'My leaf is orange and it crunches'. Children play their recording back and re-record if they want to add a describing word, and some write a label using their phonics with the adult. The teacher plays a few on the class screen and shares selected pages with families through Seesaw's family access that evening.
