Each student picks a theme from a short list, for example 'traces of use' (worn steps, chipped paint, handles rubbed smooth), and takes eight to ten photographs around the school site or of objects at home, with no faces, names, house numbers or street signs in shot. Over two lessons they sequence the images in an Adobe Express video, write a short caption for each, choose a track from the Adobe Express music library and set how long each photograph stays on screen so the cuts land with the music. They play it back to test the pacing and change the order or timing wherever a picture comes too fast or lingers. Finished videos are shared with the class on the school's learning platform, and each student notes one cut in a classmate's essay that worked and why.
