Over five lessons, a Year 9 Spanish class and a partner class at an instituto in Seville, who are learning English, build a shared photo essay on the school day: lunch, lessons, break, sport and after-school clubs. Photos show places and objects only, never faces, names, homes or family, and the Padlet wall is private, password-protected and set so that the two teachers approve every post before it appears. Each UK student posts one photo with a 50-word caption in Spanish; a Seville student replies in English with how their own school does it, and the UK student then rewrites the caption as a comparison using what they have been told ("En mi instituto... pero en Sevilla..."). The Seville class does the same in reverse, writing in English. The project ends with a class-to-class Teams call hosted by both teachers on school accounts, where each side asks about the comparison that surprised it most.
