Each student photographs their tonal pencil sketch of a shell or seed head from the previous lesson and posts it to a class Padlet set to school login, with no faces in the photo. Three named peers comment on each sketch, naming one technique that works, such as a clear range of tones or hatching that follows the form, and one thing to develop. The teacher reads across the comments and demonstrates the development point that comes up most, often a missing darkest tone. Students revise their sketch in the next lesson and post a second photo beside the first so the change is visible.
