Year 7 are learning how Greek theatre worked before they perform a chorus scene of their own. The teacher opens Google Earth on the board at the Theatre of Epidaurus and uses 360-degree views in its Street View layer, chosen before the lesson, starting in the circular orchestra where the chorus performed, turning to look up at the fan of stone seats, then jumping to a view from the top rows to show how small the orchestra looks from there. Along the way the teacher points out the remains of the skene behind the orchestra and asks the class to picture more than twelve thousand spectators. Students watch and sketch a ground plan in their books, labelling the orchestra, the theatron and the skene. In the studio they use the plan to stage a chorus of twelve, moving and speaking in unison so the words would carry to the back row.
