Each student has a page in a shared class Google Doc with a 300-word plan for the question 'To what extent did the power of the monarchy grow between 1485 and 1603?'. Three named peers comment on each plan: one on the thesis, one on whether the argument covers the whole period rather than a single reign, and one on the strongest supporting evidence. Writers then revise their plan in the Doc, replying to each comment as they go. The teacher uses version history to compare a few plans before and after feedback, shows two of the biggest changes on the board, and students end by writing their revised thesis as an opening sentence.
