A Year 12 class studying OCR Religious Studies works with a sixth-form class at a partner school with a different religious character, such as a Catholic sixth form college, which studies the same ethics paper. Both classes annotate one Google Doc, shared only with the two classes' school accounts, holding a fictional scenario about a patient with motor neurone disease who asks for help to die. Students annotate how natural law, including the doctrine of double effect, and situation ethics, with agape and Fletcher's working principles, would respond, and where each theory's answer depends on how the case is described. Students argue each theory's position, never their own faith, and no one tags or states a religious identity. A class-to-class Teams call hosted by both teachers then tests the strongest annotations from each side, and each student writes a paragraph evaluating which theory handled the case better.
