A Year 11 class has measured channel width, depth and velocity at five sites down a local river, on a fieldwork day planned under the school's trips policy, to test whether the river follows the Bradshaw model. A partner school in another country has done the same on its own river, and after both visits each class enters its readings in one shared Google Sheet with the same headings and units. In the lesson, students chart both rivers' downstream changes, check whether each follows the model, and write three questions about the partner's method, such as how velocity was timed and how sites were chosen. The lesson ends with a class-to-class Teams call hosted by both teachers on school accounts, where the classes answer each other's questions and each group writes a one-line interpretation of the other river's data.
