Nursery are learning to listen to stories and join in with repeated refrains. The teacher has made her own Book Creator retelling of The Three Billy Goats Gruff, with her own drawings and recorded sounds on each page: a light trip-trap for the little goat, a heavier one for the middle goat, a thundering one for the big goat, and the troll's grumbling voice recorded by a colleague. She reads the story on the class screen, turning the pages and playing each sound herself, while the children listen on the carpet. By the third goat the children are saying 'Who's that trip-trapping over my bridge?' with the troll, and the session ends with them stomping like each goat in turn.
