The teacher sets up a Padlet in map format and gives each student one real migration flow, for example Syria to Germany, Mexico to the USA, Poland to the UK or Bangladesh to the Gulf states. Students pin the origin and destination countries and label each pin with one push or pull factor taken from a fact sheet, colour-coding it as economic, social, political or environmental. The teacher watches the colours build on the board and, halfway through, stops the class to ask why political push factors cluster in some regions and economic pull factors in others. Students end by writing a paragraph on the dominant pattern, using two flows from the map as evidence.
