Creative Transform on the PICRAT grid: Creative row, Transform columnCIPRAT Creative Transform

Over two lessons, each student chooses a parent function (y = x², y = x³ or y = sin x) and builds a Desmos graph showing it with a transformed copy, adding sliders for a in y = f(x) + a and y = f(x + a) and a third slider, stepping between 1 and −1, that reflects the copy in the x-axis. They add labels, two challenges for the user such as 'move the curve so its turning point is at (3, −2)', and a 100-word explanation of each transformation using the terms translation, vector and reflection. In the second lesson students swap links, try each other's explorer without instructions and note anything unclear. They then fix their own explorer and post the final link to a class Padlet wall.
