The teacher imports NOAA's monthly Mauna Loa carbon dioxide record, from 1958 to the present and over 800 readings, into a template Google Sheet. Over two lessons each student builds a dashboard tab with at least three charts: a time-series line graph of the full record, a scatter chart with a linear trendline and its equation, and a chart of one year's twelve monthly values showing the seasonal rise and fall. They add a decade column and a slicer so a viewer can filter the charts by decade, use the trendline to estimate when the reading will pass 450 ppm, and write an interpretation panel explaining why the trend curves upward and why the estimate is uncertain. Dashboards are shared view-only through a class Padlet wall, and each student tests a classmate's dashboard by answering two questions from it.
