The teacher prepares a Microsoft Whiteboard with one zone per table group, each holding a three-circle Venn diagram and short descriptions of Muslim salah, Christian prayer using the Lord's Prayer, and Buddhist mindfulness meditation. Students in each group add sticky notes from their own devices on features such as set times, words, posture, focus and purpose, placing each note in the right part of the Venn. The teacher zooms out to see every zone, spots notes that groups placed differently (for example, whether meditation counts as prayer) and asks those groups to explain. Students are not asked about their own religious practice. The lesson ends with each student writing two similarities and two differences in their book.
