The teacher posts a 60-word French passage about preparing for a school exchange that contains two phrases that often trip learners up, such as 'passer un examen' (to sit an exam, not to pass it) and 'actuellement' (currently, not actually). Each student translates the passage into English and posts it to a class Padlet. The teacher scans the wall, highlights the different renderings of the two phrases, and asks three students with different versions to defend their choice. Students finish by correcting their own translation and noting the rule they will remember.
